Takashi Murakami at Le Château de Versailles

After Jeff Koons in 2008 and Xavier Veilhan in 2009 the Château de Versailles invites world famous Japanese artist Takashi Murakami to make his mark in 2010. Murakami wanted to create a bridge between the symbolic occidental classic art and the most contemporary art, a “bridge between past and future”. Here is in exclusivity, the pictures of this beautiful exhibition that will start on September 14th to December 12th.

This is the first big retrospective of Murakami : 22 works including 11 exclusively for the exhibition. There are 7 sculptures, a painting and a set of lamps, all inspired by traditional Japanese art.

Although these exhibitions in the Château create a controversy, Jean Jacques Aillagon, president of the museum and the area of Versailles, confirmed his intention to invite another contemporary artist next year.
