Dubstep started in the early 2000’s in London and has since made its way across the pond and flooded clubs and indie radio stations in the States with wobbly bass lines and 2-step rhythms. While artists like Skream, Rusko, and Caspa had major roles in getting dubstep where it is today, the future of it can be heard in Digidesign from Joker. Joker is not new to the scene however, his underground hit ‘Baggy Bottom Boys’ was every djs go to track in 2009. With Digidesign we see a departure from the standard and almost cliched deep bass, heavily shuffled or syncopated, and instead are given a bouncy, reverberant, and lustrous rhythm.
