Pittsburgh-native Christopher Laufman, recording as Wise Blood, hits somewhere between mad electro, psych pop and rap in his debut album Id. We covered “Rat” a few months back but it’s only a peek into his world, here illuminated in a mashup of jazz sax, horns, keys, banjos, percussion and a violin, with synths and beats humming along to Laufman’s deadpan observations and smirking drawl. From the album’s opener “Alarm” I was hooked – the compelling release is definitely one worth filtering through your consciousness.
