‘Weaves’ By Ben Barretto

Ben Barretto is an American artist who, in addition to painting, creates woven wall hangings.  The multi-colored ‘weaves’ are made from ropes and cables on a hand made loom.  With brilliantly luminous rope, the textiles are pixelated with colors.  Relying solely on materials from hardware stores, the end results are perfectly contemporary and evocative, blurring lines between old world craft, modern technology and the gallery space.
