In 2008 we covered artist Justine Smith for her innovative money art. After a wave of nostalgia I went back to her site for some visual indulgence and was pleasantly surprised to find a new series of collages entitled ‘Weapons’ that are just as dynamic as her earlier works. Sticking to her usual forte, money, she has created circular collages comprised of guns and weapons that work to form a circle with complex design. Through these geometric abstractions she manages to expose the material beauty of the notes while also examining our moral, political, and social relationships to money. See all of her work here.
