I recently stumbled across Waterscapes, a series by Hungarian photographer Akos Major. The series features a collection of photographs capturing ominously still bodies of water. The minimal composition matched with the eerie static water begins to create a surreal environment out of reality. The muted tones of this environment work to compliment the minimal structures he interjects into the waterscapes, giving the viewer a point of departure, as well as something to hold on to as one loses their sense of space in the vast bodies of water.
