French DJ Gesaffelstein (real name Mike Levy) is no stranger to commanding the ears of many with his ominous and sublime techno, but it is his latest video, “Pursuit” that commands our eyes – a visual feast of creepy and cool vignettes in one point perspective.
Opening with a shot of two Scandinavian children, the video continues through a collection of stories that intrigue, to say the least. While the song, reflective of the notoriously dark DJ’s signature electro sound, isn’t quite what we’d listen to at the Trendland office on an average work day, we are loving the video – a near perfect visual interpretation of the track. If this video, and contributions made to Kanye West’s Yeezus are indication, we will be surely hearing a lot more from Gesaffelstein and the entire techno genre – I look forward to seeing the music industry allocate budgets to visuals exquisite as these.
