Recently, Victoria was awarded the Sir William Dobell Foundation Award for Drawing in 2011, for the art and design installation titled ‘SURROCO- DELIA’, which she spent four months drawing every day to complete.
Victoria Garcia is a 23 year old artist, illustrator and designer based in Sydney, Australia. She has recently completed a Bachelor of Design at The College of Fine Arts in 2011. Alongside studying for the past three years, she has worked as a textile designer and illustrator, creating over 400 prints for a diverse range of local and international fashion clients that have included Karen Walker, Marnie Skillings, Lisa Ho, and Peter Alexander.

Victoria was also selected from over 300 emerging artists to participate in Art Month Sydney’s Speed Dating Event 2012 , held in March where she and 19 other emerging artists met with 20 of Sydney’s top art galleries.
Victoria is always actively looking for opportunities to share her creative visions, and is an exciting, young emerging talent who, although at the start of her career is already gaining momentum and has appeared in magazines, online blogs and radio. The following works are from the illustrated installation of 23 year old Australian artist Victoria Garcia, titled ‘SURROCODELIA’. This artwork was an extremely labor intensive process and involved cover-ing all four walls, a floor, and a ceiling with extremely detailed illustration prints. In total the original installation comprised of 60 unique panels, each depicting a different scene and each joining seamlessly together.

I like it. And it grabbed your attention esp. if you posted a comment below. whether you love it or hate I don't see anything where it promotes violence or degrading women.. what i see is government taking away the rights of a citizen n the rights away from people. Failure to follow instructions will land us in prison like the model. Now if steven photographed the same concept with average shmucks would we pay much attention to it? i dont think so. it'd be just another political journalistic photograph.3
