Not the first collection to reference to Dutch masters during Paris Fashion Week, the Valentino F/W 2013-14 collection was a triumph of austerity, grace, and a testament to magical realism. With intricate craftsmanship, regal and enchanting prints, and sweet details like scalloped edges, designers Pierpaolo Piccoli and Maria Grazia Chiuri continue to show why we look forward to their Ready-to-Wear collection season after season. The collection emphasized the face, just as the Dutch masters did, with white, laser cut collars and square necklines framing each one, hair middle parted, styled with a black headband and low braid.
