Trussardi F/W 2012

trussardi fw

Trussardi, the Italian leather goods company which celebrated its 100th birthday last year, is all about strong tailoring.  Umit Benan, in a follow up to his debut collection as Creative Director, offered monochromatic suiting in grey, rust, orange, black and cream.  Varying textures were layered on: collared shirts and wool ribbed sweaters came under jackets, with variations in leather and velvet.  Above the ankle, high waisted pants, and dresses belted at the waist showed off the figure.  Let us not forget the leather goods–the structured two handle purses came in ostrich and lizard.  The Trussardi girl is modern, elegant, yet edgy, and armed with a backpack this season-no doubt needed for whatever jet setting adventure she’s off to next.
