If you haven’t heard of Trixie Whitley, take a minute to listen to her latest release – trust me… this 4 minute beautiful recording is well worth it!
She may be a new face to some, but Whitley is no stranger to the music industry. Belgium born and American bred, she’s the prodigy and daughter of singer/songwriter Chris Whitley – American blues/rock musician, and has been the female vocalist in Black Dub the past few years. Her style is similar to that of her fathers, with alt-rock and jazz influences. Vocally she sets herself apart with the spectrum of notes this young and talented artist can hit. From gentile lyrics to deep and soulful ballets, the sounds are impressive. In “I Breathe You In My Dreams” Trixie’s voice is bone chilling and the live piano background adds to the single’s natural raw beauty. 2012 was a great year for the artist, where she was invited to take the stage at festivals like Bonnaroo, SXSW, and Celebrate Brooklyn. Her solo EP Four Corners is set to release in late January 2013, as the singer embarks on a loaded spring tour though Europe and the US.
