TrendOffice: Wieden + Kennedy Headquaters [London]

Creatives need creative spaces to create original content! For the TrendOffice today, we are reviewing the office of Wieden + Kennedy (W+K London). Situated in The Old Truman Brewery in London’s Brick Lane area, the £1.2 million architecture/interior design work was designed by Featherstone Young.

With high ceilings and an industrial aesthetic Featherstone Young designed the spaces to be fun and flexible, utilizing the height of the existing shell to create a series of mezzanines and crows’ nests for creative contemplation.

These mezzanines allow for visual connection between larger workspaces and more intimate ones and have the added benefit of virtually doubling the net area. Other spaces include a large kitchen dining room, auditorium, industrial garages, floating libraries and editing suites.

Platform ( https://platform.wk.com) is an initiative to find future creative talent and an opportunity for young people to work alongside the team on specialist projects, live client briefs and to curate the event space and programs.

Garage doors leading off this room separate smaller rooms for meetings.

One floor is dominated by a large flexible auditorium space that can host a range of events from intimate one-to-one meetings to large-scale music performances for up to 160 people.
