Topshop Unique F/W 2012

Topshop’s biggest coup d’état so far was in hiring veteran British stylist Kate Phelan last year as Creative Director. Her keen eye for wearable, edgy, cool separates made for a collection that will be seen in the streets of every major city next fall. Khaki military coats over hip slung skirts, over-sized shirts and vests paired with platform combat boots marched down the runway. Snippets of red in knit sweaters, printed trousers and blouses were a welcome reprieve to the symphony of earth tones and neutrals. Phelan ended the show with a couple of dresses that are sure to win over her fans, staples for cocktails, clubs and nights out on the town.
