All I can say is WOW!Sure Kevyn Aucoin used his Make-up palette to transform and Pat McGrath innovated the use of 3D effects into her Make-ups back in the 90's, but Alex Box has taken this to a WHOLE new level.Sure as Make-up Artists we use a little bit of inspiration from other artists into our own style. For me, I see a little bit of Kevyn and Pat's inspiration in Alex's style, and then she decides to push that envelope into new areas of artistic creativity. Her use of colours and materials, her style of utilizing fine lines in geometric patterns... Very unconventional and refreshing.Seeing her images and video tutorials, I am awe inspired and left in wonderment saying phrases like: "Wow, beautiful, stunning, cool, nice, why didn't I think of that?" And the odd, "I've done that, why didn't my agent/booker notice that before?" Then again as we ALL know, Editorial Fashion is all about forecast timing.Regardless, I am very much inspired with Alex Box's work, and learning new things even with 13+ years in the industry. What a great makeup! It is art. Amazing to watch how the model changes. I love the final result, but it looks like Box doesn't have a clear image before as orange eyebrows were lost, blue eye shadows as well... wow! What a great makeup! It is art.
