As part of their Advanced Architectural Design thesis at Strathclyde University in Glasgow, architects Angus Richie and Daniel Tyler collaborated to design “The Lookout,” a handmade and mirrored timber cabin situated among the lochs and mountainous landscapes of Scotland.

Constructed entirely by hand over a two month span, the structure transforms dependent on the viewer’s vantage point shifting from synthesizing into its natural surroundings to intentional visibility of its 2400 x 2400 cube form.  With a mirror stainless steel adorned exterior, the hollow cabin structure has been carved out to accommodate viewers to either sit or stand and admire Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park’s uncultivated beauty.
