Brent Black, is the most renowned handwoven straw hats (Panama hats) maker, he is now offering the world’s finest Montecristi Panama for $100,000. Called “The Hat” the one of a kind headgear is finished with extremely fine toquilla straw and woven only in Ecuador. ‘The Hat’ was commissioned by Brent Black from Simón Espinal (the best weaver in history), who lives in the village of Píle in Montecristi Canton. It took him five full months to complete it. Based on vintage patterns, a handful of master weavers produce the best of the best, which sell for tens of thousands of dollars a piece.
