The Gourmand issue 8 Returns for More Food Exploration

The Gourmand returns for their eighth issue with this delicious cover shot by the legendary Harry Peccinotti. The Issue 8 is inspired by entertaining and begins with chef James Loks recalling the highs and lows of entertaining on a grand scale.

Afterward, chef and activist Alice Waters and her daughter Fanny Singer share stories of the everyday objects that matter the most to them; while Laura Bradbury highlights the small details that make a perfect place setting. Kyle Hugall celebrates the humble prawn cocktail (with illustrations by Jean Jullien) while Ben Chapman explores the food of the villages where Thai, Chinese and Burmese culture collide.

As always the issue is packed with fantastic photography. For the issues cover story, photographer Harri Peccinotti presents a visual re-imagining the Princess and the Pea. Briona Stewart captures the Filipino hospitality workers that have made Dubai their home Gustav Almestål gets down and dirty with perishable foods, and duo Baker & Evans journey through the world of olive oil. text via Village Books
