Championed by their uniquely intricate style of illustration, The City Works create carefully curated souvenir collections, each about a different world city. Applied to cards, posters, accessories and stationery, these sophisticated cityscapes make the perfect memento, whether for the seasoned natives or the curious travellers.
Hailing from their studio in Vienna, the designer brand will be marking Design Junction 2016 in London with an exhibition of their entire range so far, for visitors to gaze upon, touch, and colour-in too.
Founders Sylvia Moritz and Rowan Ottesen will be on hand to discuss their experiences and ambitious plans for the future. They have produced bespoke work for the likes of National Gallery, Oxford University, Barbican Centre, and University of the Arts London, and have also launched their debut colouring-in book with Hardie Grant Publishing. Their latest product, the Debossed Notebook, is a tactile jotter for city lovers. All 144 Munken inside pages have been lay-flat bound by specialists in Holland.
“We aspire to make beautiful mementos from places around the world, that live long in the memory, and last as long as the landmarks that they depict.”
