Tara McPherson was born in 1976 in San Fransisco and raised in LA, is a full-bread American painter, freelance illustrator, poster artist, comic book artist (DC Comics, Warner Brothers, Dark Horse Comics…) and teacher in New York City. She has a pretty impressive resume!  A stylized heart-shaped hole through a person’s chest in the place of an actual heart is a recurring motif in her work. Probably a sign that she has had her heart broken pretty badly at one time . McPherson’s images are thought provoking and seductive ~ people and their relationships are a central theme throughout her work.
