Prada has always been very creative with their lookbooks. Once again thinking outside the box, they hired extremely talented Illustrators, Art Directors and CG artists. Their latest ‘MotionBook’ (or Video lookbook) is a real piece of art ! High heel lover Tabitha Simmons has gone one step further for A/W’11, presenting an exclusive video as part of the her new season lookbook. Directed by her designer-cum-photographer husband Craig McDean, the short black and white video showcases a selection of Tabitha’s quintessentially British shoe designs found upon a pair of lean tap dancing legs.

Based on his first ever Resort 2012 collection and video presentation, it is safe to assume Henry Holland must have teleported to Guatemala in the 80′s sometime this year. For his presentation he collaborated with Mariano Vivanco to create a spoof off of Neneh Cherry’s ‘Buffalo Stance’ (1989) video, only his features Eliza Cummings wearing his Resort 2012 collection and covering “Buffalo Stance”.

One more time Agent Provocateur seduces! Private Tapes is a series of short, ‘home-made’ film clips of women displaying Agent Provocateur’s Autumn/Winter 2010 lingerie to a video camera, in what appears to be her hotel room. A great “voyeuristic viral” concept, since these video are only web based and that the stills from them make up the lingerie lookbook…

I’ve been waiting to get my hands on the new Sibling presentation but this went above and beyond all expectation. This video look book for their 3rd collection is a visual bomb, full of historic references through graphic elements and collage. They have created visual environments for each of their new sweaters using amateurishly montaged animal heads instead of the models that were shot. In celebration of the 25 years of London Fashion Week, Temperley London partnered with NY based production studio LEGS (part of the Milk Studios) and created this 12-foot-tall Circus Zoetrope to showcased their Spring 2010 collection. It was unveiled last week during New York Fashion Week & is now in London for London Fashion week.
