It has long been a pastime for youngsters to play in the post-rain mud and Maryland kids got down and dirty this Saturday at Virgin Mobile Live FreeFest all for the benefit of youth homelessness. Tickets were free: payment was by choice. Every dollar spent on drinks and pure donations went straight to the cause. It was American ‘free’dom reigning at its finest. Telepathe recently released their debut album ‘Dance Mother’ on I Am Sound Records. It is produced by David Sitek, of Tv on the Radio, and it perfectly captures the sound they set forth with last years single “Chrome’s On It”Telepathe.  Avante garde, atmospheric beats and airy vocals make for a record that’s at different times haunting, pretty, and futuristic. “In Your Line” and “Can’t Stand It” are two of the albums stand-outs, but “Michael” is the hero for me. Dark and morbid lyrics like “My greatest joy would be to destroy you” and “I want to wish you suffer violently” contrast wonderfully with the song’s blissful beat.
