A few weeks ago, on New York City’s coldest winter night, I stopped by Williamsburg’s Glasslands Gallery to check out new band White Prism.
Breath-swept synth pop is in Erika Spring‘s DNA. As she stepped on to the stage at Los Angeles’ Echo last night (sans 2/3 of her dreamy Brooklyn trio, Au Revoir Simone), the lead singer and keyboardist only reinforced her presence as a front-woman and her talent as an independent force.
The self-titled debut album of Django Django has been as elusive as a unicorn for anyone who caught glimpses of the the Scottish quartet’s synth-pop throughout the beginning of this year. Thus far, the withheld album has been praised and previewed sparingly via leaks and limited releases, but has yet to be fully released.

BUY HERE Claude Violante‘s down-tempo dance floor hit unearths a melancholy mood that is just right for swirling in the darkness. Dim the L.E.D. lights, and cue the fog machine: this is melodramatic synth-pop at it’s finest.
