Since hitting the airwaves in 1994 with their debut album Dummy, for which they won the coveted Mercury Prize in 1995, to this day we continue to love English band Portishead. Having long established their downtempo, electronic legacy in this release, third single Glory Box is this week’s Throwback.
FOALS’ highly anticipated third album Holy Fire isn’t set to hit shelves until February 2013, but recently released single “Inhaler” has set a new and distinguishing tonal shift for the Oxford band. “Inhaler” displays parallels to Rage Against The Machine meets Prince, while maintaining true to their post-punk, dance-y and calculated beats.
