Faile 104 N. 7th Party

VICE today announces a new public art project in the heart of Williamsburg by acclaimed artists, FAILE, commissioned by VICE and 42Below. In celebration of the new piece, titled “104 N. 7th,” VICE and 42Below will host a huge party at Williamsburg’s Wythe Hotel on April 26th, showcasing works from FAILE’s repertoire of acclaimed art. The party will also screen Art Talk – FAILE, a short documentary by VICE that follows the creative process of the artists during the making of “104 N. 7th,” and their Brooklyn roots.

FAILE’S artwork “104 N. 7th” is a new a project that covers an entire building facade with intricately hand-painted, sculpted ceramic tiles. “104 N. 7th” is a natural outgrowth of FAILE’s previous works on wood and canvas, but also a step forward—street art transmuted by the studio and redeployed on the artists’ home turf.

For the last twelve years Grand St. Settlement has annually hosted Taste of the Lower East Side™, one of New York City’s most anticipated tasting events that raises funds for our programs and services. The event began when members of the Grand St. Settlement family realized that the neighborhood’s burgeoning restaurant community was a wonderful reflection of the area’s historically rich and culturally diverse make-up. This partnership between local eateries created an amazing event where food lovers and restaurants could give back to their less fortunate Lower East Side neighbors. More than a decade later, TLES is one of the City’s favorite tasting events, attracting upward of 1,000 supporters.
