As the debatably anonymous Los Angeles quintet chills under the radar with Sweater Weather, The Neighbourhood is prepping for a bam! moment when they drop their debut EP I’m Sorry on May 7 (The Revolve Group). In late January, the hip-folk slash rock-hop troupe threw some bait with their single “Female Robbery” before swiping the awesome card for beau-coup credits in the UK via acclaimed BBC Radio Show, Zane Lowe. And with the second single release last month, “Sweater Weather,” fanfare is official as the soulful sunny-side-up tune powers through weighted drums and polished chords.

In a somersault of hip-hop and indie-folk, “Sweater Weather” folds in lyrical charm with a catch melody as The Neighbourhood hits the street with a big sound. Produced by Justyn Pilbrow, “I’m Sorry” anticipates a continuation of breakthrough beats in their infancy of mix-genre teasers.
