Could you wear the same outfit everyday for a year? Well, Sheena Matheiken is doing the unthinkable for a worthy cause.
She will don the same dress (don’t fret germafreaks she has multiples a’la Superman) for a full year. The challenge is for the charming fashion imp to rework the same black tunic dress into a different chic ensemb each day with vintage and donated accessories.
Matheiken’s penchant towards uniforms stems from her upbringing in India where peers showed their unique style by pushing the limits of their required school uniforms.
Picked up this insane lookbook last year at Creatures of Comfort [and by insane that refers to the cover page photography, the styling, and the clothing alike]. With collections as ingenious as this, how could anyone ever be unimpressed with the German-born Bernhard Willhelm? He brings us dresses, coats, sweaters, skirts, and dresses with extreme volume and layering that manage to flatter with lines having obviously been placed with a woman’s body in mind. Willhelm is easily synonymous with the words quirky, adventurous, vibrant, and playful but what makes him so brilliant in his designs is the fact that every piece is still very much chic and wearable. It comes as no surprise that this now Paris local received the ANDAM Grand Prize as the most promising talent of the new creative scene.

Lotus dropped out of high school to assist the Danish stylist Christian Schleisner and she assisted him for about a year and then the Danish model-agency Scoop-models (who also works with Amanda Nørgaard) asked her to work for them as a stylist.
Here’s one to watch. The Danish photographer Olivia Frølich has been working as an assistent for different photographers for many years, but recently started working on her own.
The quality frame manufacture Super and Barneys New York features part two in their co-op. The frames is designed with intertwining metallic streaks combined with a Zeiss Gold 24k lens and of course is based on the Super Ciccio Style. The product is limited to only 50 pieces only at Barneys NY. I’m really feeling the aesthetic marriage between the orginal tortoise shell look and wood-grain.
Soon to be spotted on your fav neon-clad deejay and/or new wave dude (some boys can pull off most anything) is the out-there accessory du jour courtesy of New York’s design collective, Gar-De.
It seems the fringe-trend has reached its zenith with the conception of the WWD-wrestler-cum-hair-extension pieces.
Available Special Order Price on request from Gar-De. To order: 212.967.8826
Kanye’s collab with the Louis Vuitton Spring 09 line called “Kanye LV” stepped out in Paris on Thursday. The monochromatic beauties are just the kind of low-pro steeze expected from the K; of course he had to throw the little Louis flowers at the sole. Not sure what’s going on in the back with [...]
