I usually am a “less is more” kind of a girl, but something about this wildly creative and wonderful editorial by Mario Testino for British Vogue caught my eye and made me break out in a smile. I love the mix of earth tones, nature and tradition with the neon colors and modern tech; a great blend of past and present and possible future. Testino cut all the bullshit and got straight to the point for this fetish inspired editorial for German publication Stern, a weekly economic and political magazine which will is surely provoking its readers with this “Wicked Berlin” editorial. Well this seems pretty serious to me, a half naked top model dressed in high fashion dominatrix style strolling through the street of Berlin can redefine the boundaries of fashion photography. It will definitely be some time if ever before we see this kind of photography in US publications, but then again the US has not made its name in avant garde fashion. Carmen Kass really let out the top model in her to bring this story.
