Nicolas Ghesquière is nothing if not visionary, constantly propelling fashion forward with each collection. And this F/W 2012 Balenciaga collection is no different. Although always drawing from the roots of the legendary house to inspire his haute couture constructions, Ghesquière put a lot out on the runway. His signature exaggerated shoulder jackets, floating above the model’s shoulders, were paired with simple A-line skirts and loose gartered trousers; space-y paneled metallic dresses and skirts were detailed with asymmetric cut-outs; and animal prints came in several forms from jacquard snakeskin to blue on pink zebra.

A collection intended to underscore individuality, the show’s narrative was completed by the styled office setting, Created by the designer’s friend and artist Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster on the 27th floor of a Paris skyscraper. Naturally, Ghesquière acted as the chairman of the board, with the models as his “employees”, and even individuals acting as “corporate spies” situated all along the runway.

“A homeless man in China has developed an Internet following of thousands who admire his “good looks” and “bohemian dress sense,” the Independent reports. Just when I’ve sworn that my eyes can not bare anymore neon for at least another decade, comes a mouth-watering editorial, entitled “Love on Top of Love”, from the 77th issue of Oyster Magazine shot by Christoper Katke that leaves me in utter lust. I am a sucker for vibrant colors but the last year has been quite abusive of them in the urban realm of style (or non style). The mix of the Balenciaga florals with the vintage brights of Sonia Rykiel and Dolce & Gabanna and the 80′s architectural haircuts are so on point and yet better than ever before.

This is an editorial from the Winter issue of V Man,  that drew me in so deep. It is a forgotten art to create garments with so much love and craftsmanship. And to juxtapose it with this style of photography seemed so moody and appropriate. I can not figure out if photographer Richard Burbridge really played withe lighting or if the images we masked in post. Either way it was a brilliant execution for this project of highlighting the true craft of each piece.  I Nearly died when I saw the piece above by Burberry, a cashmere sweater with hand sewn and painted feathers! what!
