We’re used to actors and musicians doing it. But it’s not every day that a director decides to collaborate with a fashion label—unless that director is as smart and stylish as Sofia Coppola. Having already worked on a few pieces together during the Venice Film Festival last year, Sofia teams up yet again with Louis Vuitton‘s studio design director Julie De Libran, this time to produce the entire Resort 2012 line.
“I told her I want a new wardrobe,” tells Sofia. “I’m happy to give my opinion of, I wish I could have this or that.” And sure enough, the collection, with its distinct vintage theme, is all very Sofia. Harking back to the 60s and 70s era, we see short tunic-cut dresses, navy print pajama pants, high-waisted leather-and-wool quilted skirts, and straight ankle-length pants that all look as if they were pulled out of the director’s own closet.
“She has an effortless, casual chic,” says Julie about Sofia’s style. “It’s what people want to wear.”

Are you serious? I'm usually a fan of the stuff you put up here, but just cause she's a friend of Trendland doesn't mean you have to be completely uncritical about this commercial. The objectification of the woman, and also the patronizing of the men, is so sad to me.. it's like a commercial from the 50's?? For Samsung to promote a Smart TV with such a medieval view on gender roles.. I guess the only smart thing about this really is the TV..8
A great work i loved the post.9
Hey there! I just tried out the new Kokorico, by Jean Paul Gautier and also made a review for it, here in Brazil. I really loved the Patchouli like scent.10
