Sharp and Cool Visions: Fashion Scandinavia

How cool Scandinavian design is.  Furniture and architecture have already been renowned, now it’s fashion’s turn. The author of the newly released book Fashion Scandinavia, Dorothea Gundtoft, says that “the time for Scandinavian clothing has come because the elements present in the designers’ collections are highly in tune with the way we live and work today”.

Published by Thames & Hudson, the book contains individual profiles -most consisting of interviews- of 56 Scandinavian designers that stand behind brands such as Acne, DAY Birger et Mikkelsen, Marimekko, Ann-Sofie Back, Peter Jensen, Soulland, COS, Camilla Stærk and Kalda, and many more. These collections feature the iconic simplicity, minimalism, attention to detail, and high quality of materials of Scandinavian design. Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Finland, with all their refined appeal, are finally conquering the fashion world.
