Seabird by Mozilla Labs

But let’s see where the future will bring us, as I predict that we will probably have this technology by the end of 2011…

Interaction

The Seabird, then, introduces a few possibilities into how user interaction might evolve with the advancing motion capture and projector driven innovation in the market. First out, the Seabird imagines how a multiple use dongle might augment the crowded gestural interface with greater precision and direct manipulation of content in 3D space.

Pico Projector

With mobile phone companies such as Samsung, LG and Motorola moving towards display applications for projectors, the technology remains open for expanding user interaction and input at the same time. The Seabird, on just a flat surface, enables netbook-quality interaction by working with the projector’s angular distortion to deliver interface, rather than content. With the benefit of a dock, each projector works independently and delivers laptop levels of efficiency.

A little piece of technology in this fashion & art world, for showcasing the very futuristic ‘Seabird’ phone concept by Mozilla labs. For now its only a prototype, but as soon as it will hit the market, I’m dropping my Iphone for it in a second! Watch video below for a better understanding.

Only one bad thing ugh! its running on windows! But I understand Mozilla that don’t want to privilege Apple, since they actually never accepted Firefox for the Iphone (which is a shame).

It’s not running on Windows; it’s not running on anything, it’s just a concept, a fantasy inside the head of the guy who made that video clip. There is no software. Those look like Windows programs because that was easiest to put in the animation.

If you look at the interface on the phone itself, you’ll note it looks a lot like Android – the Google phone OS. It’s not unreasonable to assume that if Seabird one day becomes reality a version of Android will be running it.
