As always its our utter pleasure at Trendland to bring you The Sandra Backlund Spring/Summer 2009 Collection entitled “Pool Position”. The brilliant conception of her hand knitted and crocheted collection reiterates over and over that Backlund must have been born with knitting needles for fingers. I did some research to find out exactly where the title of her new collection came from but found no background, when I look at the collection i do not really see i get a very string idea of the battlefield, ideas of armor and shields presented in all different shapes and forms.

” I always start with an idea. Then I begin to experiment with different handicraft techniques and materials. I improvise a lot and allow myself to lose control to see what happens.”
