Saint Laurent S/S 2013

The much anticipated S/S 2013 Saint Laurent show was Hedi Slimane’s debut as womenswear designer, and he really transported the brand back to its roots. Cleaning the slate is always a great approach for a new creator to such an iconic brand. The collection  felt truly effortless. It triggered our nostalgic aspirations for 70’s bohemian-glam. Everything about the collection was chic and feminine. The drapey-bows and over-sized fedora brims punctuated the looks with a nonchalant charge that really characterized this woman. If the references back to Yves Saint Laurent were not enough, Hedi Slimane even went back to use the same milliner that made Yves Saint Laurent’s hats in the 70’s.
