Lucas Nascimento‘s colors-combos, two-tone platforms, and distinctive hemlines seem to have drawn some key notes from Prada, but no complaining here – I’m loving the texture of the high-wasted shorts, the multi-layering of the dress, and those gold nipple covers!

Melk Z-Da was a great hope for the progression of Rio fashion. It was refreeshing to see this level of technique and innovation during Rio Fashion Week.

Cantao‘s nomadic aesthetic fits seamlessly into a new trend defined as Gypset, bon-vivant’s “who who have perfected a high-low approach to life that fuses the freelance and nomadic wile of a gypsy with the sophistication and global references of the jet set. Its an alternative way of traveling and living that’s based more on creativity then money. Instead of a luxury hotel in St Tropez or St. Bart’s, you might find a Gypsetter in Montauk, Cornwall, or in a teepee in Ibiza.”
Get out all your patterns, think deep tones for the palette, headscarves, chains, and just about anything else you can find lying around the house to adorn yourself with, and start layering. I can deeply identify with this girl and there will always be a place for her in soaring and declining economies.

Walter Rodrigues seemed to draw inspiration from the ocean waves at Brazilian beaches – I’m giddy over the fluid, floor-grazing skirts and the soft coat tails flowing from rigid top halves. The avant-gardesque elegance of the collection has a timeless appeal, that I am extremely partial to at the moment.

Amelia Earhart meets Startrek, as aviators of the future strut down Redley‘s runways in uniform-like graphic silhouettes finished with shiny pu piping.
For a city where ladies and gents are clad in teeny bikinis and swim trunks most of the time, the designers behind Rio’s Fall/Winter 2010 Fashion Week kept the rest of us in mind. The barely-there swimsuits last (Spring/Summer) season are swapped with darker hues, a bit more fabric, and some great sources of inspiration. Check out a highlight of the best looks from Rio Fashion Fall/Winter 2010 below, filled with contrasting textures, cool color palettes (blues, greys, greens), and butt-grazing hemlines (it is Brazil after all)!

Are you serious? I'm usually a fan of the stuff you put up here, but just cause she's a friend of Trendland doesn't mean you have to be completely uncritical about this commercial. The objectification of the woman, and also the patronizing of the men, is so sad to me.. it's like a commercial from the 50's?? For Samsung to promote a Smart TV with such a medieval view on gender roles.. I guess the only smart thing about this really is the TV..8
A great work i loved the post.9
Hey there! I just tried out the new Kokorico, by Jean Paul Gautier and also made a review for it, here in Brazil. I really loved the Patchouli like scent.10
