There is something about bathtubs and heartbreak/ crumbling relationships, that go hand in hand. No matter how manufactured this video is, a sentiment of purity and simplicity gleam through both artists vocals, as well as through atmosphere. Less is more, with sad songs sometimes, as we can feel the rawness of emotion instead of the masks of makeup, props, and dancers for example. When we want relationships to work so badly, often, we go “round and round” problems that never get addressed, let alone solved, so the pain of letting go of each other outweighs the pain of staying together.
