Re:Form School Exhibition

This weekend in New York’s Nolita there were a series of events produced in conjunction with Redu around the concept of Re:Form School, a pop-up art exhibition raising awareness for the need of reform in the American Public Education System.Well known artists including Shepard Fairy, Swoon and Ron English as well as 100 unknown (or less known) artist from around the country participated under the themes:

Knowledge is Power, Community, Teachers Inspire, Creativity and Innovation to create the work of this beautifully curated and highly inspired exhibition.

There was a great energy throughout these events. Re:Form School brought together a very interesting group of New Yorkers for a great cause. The art was priced at extremely accessible prices so I’m pretty certain most of the work sold.

From all the submissions, only 5 artists were chosen to exhibit their work.

The panel of judges included:

Russell Simmons – Def Jam Records
Shepard Fairey – Artist
Rosario Dawson – Actress
Davis Guggenheim – Director of “Waiting for Superman”
Ann Miller – Director of the Society of Illustrators
Wendy Kopp – Founder – Teach for America
Ivan Shaw – Photo Director – Vogue from all the submissions to exhibit their work
