RAD by Rad Hourani S/S 2012

We always know to expect major androgyny from Rad Hourani, but this season crossed an invisible line for me that almost made me feel uncomfortable. I could not even feature many of the looks the guys were wearing because they were just too extreme. Maybe  you may remember a piece I did on Men in Skirts a while back, where I was completely in support of this oncoming trend. It was a very controversial piece that many people have shared their thoughts on.

The RAD S/S 2011 collection was full of interesting details and construction. The idea of “peeling”/second skin seemed to be a big part of the concept of the collection. It felt really 5th Element. And though I am a supporter of this super innovative young  talent, guys in mini skirts really turned me off, and you could see in a lot of the models eyes that they felt really uncomfortable and eager to finish their walk.
