Proenza Schouler S/S ’14

For their Spring 2014 collection, Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough drew inspiration from the texture and depth of Brazilian furniture, monochromatic minimalism, and conceptual art. The result is a work of exquisite craftsmanship, seemingly effortless in their execution. Patterns leapt with three-dimensional effect, accordion pleated skirts spliced with strips of silver and bronze foil shimmied down the runway, platform shoes bore stripes of wood grain, and exposed contrasting seams remained elegant despite their deconstruction. The collection’s centerpiece, structured metal chest plates adorned with a strand of burnished floral, felt graceful and feminine.
