Proenza Schouler F/W 2012

If I did not know what show I was walking into and had to guess, it would have taken me quite some guesses to arrive to the correct answer. The Proenza Schouler F/W 2012 collection made me think of Balenciaga right away, it had that Ghesquiere sensibility. The design duo really stepped out of their comfort zone and into a bit of an androgynous territory. The boxy hard lines were a major highlight of the collection. Though it seemed uncharacteristic of Proenza Schouler, the collection did feature their signature craftsmanship and technicality in the woven and die-cut leathers.

This was hands down the most exciting collection of NYFW. I think Lazaro was right on when he described their collection’s vibe as, “It’s Asian, but in a New York way.”
