Prada S/S 2013

There was almost a lyrical feeling in the taste left behind the Prada models’ strut. The ever-experimenting Miuccia, surprised once again with the trick she held under her sleeve, especially for her S/S 2013 presentation. But it was hardly spring in her world. Yes, during this Spring’s fashion weeks, we saw all kinds of contradictions, but this one was the most highly perceivable. Prada’s woman was as fresh as the most simple petal and as sharp as a knife. Common denominator: the five-petal flower. The show started off with black, 3/4 sleeved dresses approaching boxy, mod shapes, decorated with the all-white flower, almost powder-sugar sprinkled on them. That, until it became winter al over again and fury coats and kimono-like outerwear popped up.  And even though the lines were quite simple, Miuccia also designed the way for the peplum revolution, where multiple origami-like foldings stuck out under the upper, main smoothed out, geometrical peplum. Last highlight: the geisha shoes with the shimmering socks under and the pretty, pretty bows on. It’s all about contradictions, indeed.
