Although she has already made many contributions to magazines such as ID and Dazed & Confused, Phebe Schmidt continues to create work for her own portfolio that are super distinguishable. Her surreal editorial images capture our interest as we attempt to relate to the frozen models and understand if they’re dead or alive, or even if they are real. Phebe’s photos seem to show parts of a static and parallel reality, leaving us uncomfortable at times.
