I just came across this really cool furniture reincarnation project called Nine Lives by Tonia Bell. Nine Lives, believe that everything has value—combine this idea with instinct, creative reuse, followed by an appreciation of the raw and imperfect, and you’ve got the Nine Lives vision of reincarnation. Im sure at some point many of you have thought to buy a flea market piece of furniture or picked up a discarded one in a back alley with the intention of reupholstering it, well Bell’s process is a similar one, only she finds beauty in the skeleton of the piece itself and exposes its structure.
It is really interesting to see what lies beneath it all. I have to say her deconstructed product is much more desirable that with which she starts. (above)
