Hot off the press from Amsterdam, internationally acclaimed hairstylist, Tommy Hagen, has taken his boundless energy and devoted it to a new creative journal called TonkaTom. The journal unites fashion and art for a innovative, diverse and socially dynamic visual experience.We wanted to share with you the first issue here: a creative wonderland and platform for the very best in Dutch and International talent–stylists, photographers, hair and make-up artists all fusing their cutting edge vision in the kickoff.
The content of the journal itself draws inspiration from strong trends we have seen of late: sculptural forms, bold and graphic aesthetics, intense and muted palettes, botanical references, the full spectrum of the rainbow, and brotherly love. Henrik van der Zwet and his team at Van-Der Amsterdam were asked by Tommy to design and create the visual identity for the magazine, and provided the standout graphics.
