Seoul-based designer Munsoo Kwon presents an eclectically tailored collection named ‘…Kite Flies over Han River on a Lazy Afternoon’ for Spring/Summer 2015.
For those who pay attention to South Korea’s mainstream and left-field culture is not surprising to encounter the ever present visual experimentation and mismatch on music videos and movies. Kwon plays with patterns compositions that breaks the usual path that would lead to classically dapper pieces if left untouched; as well as displaying a particular eye for sport staples such as baseball jerseys, shorts and bomber jackets, all remixed with lines, clever pockets and gentle color blocking.
The waterfront and bridge backdrop are well-served by the dynamic presence of Munsoo’s pieces, undeniably a welcome visual intervention.
