If you are a music lover and haven’t done so already, I suggest you check out any of hip hop collective, Odd Future’s Tumblrs. A collection of personal diaries through the Los Angeles-based group’s journey as they take hip hop by storm, the web savvy of the group is outdone only by the quality of the content which they feature (and the legion of fans devoted to the group online). From the debuts of their graphic and often hilarious videos, to photos snapped at performances and parties, and q&a’s submitted by their fans, TL commends OFWGKTA on their efforts to share every moment of their joyride through fame and success.

If you already do follow them on Tumblr, then you definitely didn’t miss #MELLOWHYPE week recently, in which the Odd Future duo comprised of Left Brain and Hodgy Beats (Vyron Turner and Gerard Long), who collaborate under the moniker Mellowhype, dropped a plethora of new material, some of which appears on their forthcoming album Numbers.
Decoy was my favorite release during the promo push, showcasing Hodgy Beats’ flow over Left Brain’s quick beats–cool and anxious at once on Decoy. Also check out “Wasabi” featuring Juicy J and the video for “La Bonita” off of Numbers. These guys, and the rest of the crew, seem to be riding steady as they navigate through the enormous feat of innovating the genre for the stimulus-crazed 21st century. Numbers is out October 9th.
