Max de Esteban’s photography is always project-based and postulates an open question about something he’s passionately interested in. This series named Proposition One depicts obsolete technology products for creating and communicating art. The images have an x-ray longing to reclaim a mortuary quality, as
forensic testimonies of a past existence. This way, Spanish photographer wants to express the consequences of today’s accelerated appearance of new technologies and formats in the art practice. "Rapid obsolescence in the working formats and techniques together with hugely superior access to archival resources is modifying the nature of artistic practice, accelerating its democratization and reinforcing its precarious nature."
