Mathieu Lehanneur Bridges Ancient History & 22th Century with Concept Design

In the same month that multi-disciplinary Mathieu Lehanneur sees his Liquid Marble series installation take centre stage at the Victoria & Albert (V&A) museum for the London Design Festival, hissolo show opens at the Carpenters Workshop Gallery in London,and his sculptural lighting designs exhibited at ‘Art Light‘ show at the Carpenters Workshop Gallery in Paris, the protean designer’s work as a talented and creative one is also demonstrated at the grandest of all decorative art fairs.

Galerie Chenel, the prestigious sculpture gallery that specializes in archaeological objects and Roman antiquities on Quai Voltaire, Paris, commissioned Lehanneur to create the concept for their 60m2 booth at the Biennale des Antiquaires (10-18 Sept 2016), which opened to the public at the Grand Palais, Paris, this weekend.

“We wanted Mathieu to design a set for us as we knew he would be able to bring another layer of interest to our space, to draw a theme around the works while respecting them and letting them breathe”

says Olivier Chenel, co-owner of the Galerie Chenel.
