Marie Claire’s Pop Idols Accessories Spread

Saying a magazine presents 3D objects in a 2D format is akin to  saying water is wet. But Marie Claire’s latest accessories spread “Pop Idols” elevates this method in a way only comparable to Andy Warhol, sans the mass commercialism. Imagemaker Ilan Rubin both photographed and illustrated a selection of this season’s best in bags, placing them on geometric, skewed renditions of tables and chairs in a restrained palette.
