Marc Jacobs is stamping his brand all over Diet Coke (Coca Cola Light internationally), as their new Creative Director. The beverage brand turns 30 this year. See a sex-ified Jacobs strip down for a photo booth camera in the commercial spot, and check out Jacobs’ signature prints splashed across the Broadway-themed cans. While I was once a mindless consumer of the oh-so-thirst-quenching, syrupy sweet carbonated beverage, I stopped drinking soda when I left my parents house. Seeing Jacobs’ backing Diet Coke makes it sexier than it ever was before, and makes me feel slightly less guilty about the occasional indulgence.
On the subject of relevant current beverage branding partnerships…Beyoncé, as you may know, recently signed an unprecedented deal with Pepsi, and Leandra Medini (Man Repeller) reminded us that Diet Dr. Pepper is indeed the finest diet soda on the market (this I agree on).
