Written by Guest Blogger Madeline Rudin If Alice in Wonderland took place in a shopping mall, it may have looked something like the Louis Vuitton S/S 2013 Paris Fashion Week show. LV set the bar high with last year’s demonstration and had no intention of lowering it this year as models took to the runway two at a time via escalators and clad in symmetrical, and arguably dizzying, outfits. With a joyful palette of bright yellow, kelly green, and camel brown, the runway was littered with geometric patterns from the floor to the smocks to the luggage. The pieces were refreshingly familiar, reflecting the traditional designs of the premiere fashion label but infused with a contemporary edge and sophistication. Though not the most surprising collection, Vuitton is the perfect high-fashion embodiment of the idiom–if it’s not broke, don’t fix it.
